Any idea what brand or how old this snare drum might be ? I have not removed the head to see if there is any internal identification, as I'm afraid the heads will fall apart.

Did you try to look through the vent hole to see if there is a stamp or tag inside? If there is, generally it will be 180 degrees across of the vent hole...Not always the case though...
I`m thinking 1920`s...This is only a guess though...Hopefully, someone will chime in with more info...

Great looking drum! Wish I could help you out with identification, but someone here will surely have an idea.
Were hex bolts common back then, or is it likely someone improvised later? They look of a similar age to the claws and the rest of the hardware, so I guess it could well be factory.
