Mystery Rims: 8 AND 10 Lug!!!

Loading...

Hey, guys,

I've just returned from a nearby city where I purchased a set of die cast rims which because of the hole configuration, will fit either an eight or ten lug drum. The seller told me he had researched the rims for hours, but could find nothing. There are no markings on either rim. Someone has painted them an ugly gold which I hope to remove. I THINK that they are too heavy for aluminum, but of course I could be wrong. I don't even own a camera so I can't send pictures. Any ideas about who could have made them? The seller THOUGHT they may be Ludwig. Thanks.

Brian,

Did you remove the paint from the rims? If so, what did you use? Condition?

Cheers

Hey, Rod!

Nope, I haven't even touched them yet. I've thought about sand blasting, powder coating and even just painting them, but I've been so busy, it's all conjecture. I still think that someone had a very clever idea, but to be honest, they are not the most beautiful rims I have ever seen. Hope you're doing well, my friend! Spring is on its way!
