Hey Ralf, please enlighten me as I obviously missed something... Was someone else producing drums under the star name before -65?

Indeed, a good question - but I really have no clue (and I think, even Tama has no more files about the very beginning. My requests there couldn't enlighten the darkness of this time).

If ARCHxANGEL has more info to be published in a book one day - I'd be eager to get one for my reference.

It's a '50s Pearl not Star. Hard to tell, but that mount looks like a ratchet.

Seeing as how this kit was found down under, I'm inclined to believe not many left that area of the world. Also found this thread with badges older than ones listed on the VDF.

Found this photo, still hard to see. But you can tell that mount clipped onto the bass and has the ratchet.

Very welcome, I'm glad I was able to find some photo's. I love a good MIJ mystery. And I couldn't agree more, this is a great forum with some great people on here.
