Mystery Drum

Loading...

Greetings All;

I recently acquired a raggedy-looking set of drums that were advertised as Pearl Presidents. Maybe. I do know they have phenolic resin shells but the hardware is wrong for any picture I've found of Pearls. Also, note the date in the photo, found under the wrap which was 1969 Pearl, Gold Oyster Pearl. The lug footprint is original to the wrap. Does anyone recognize those lugs?

I have a President kit and it has those lugs on it. No badges? Are the shells dark brown inside?

See pic below.

Yes, the inside is a dark reddish brown. What year is your President kit? I'm trying to determine if the work required to bring this 3 piece set back to life is going to be worth it. No badges, a previous owner painted the wrap black. I have the 13" tom pictured, a 16" floor tom in good condition and a 22" bass with extra holes. Photos of your tom mounts and floor spurs would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jim

Thank you sir. I'm going to bring this set back but there's some extra holes to contend with and I think I'm going to let the natural phenolic color show. Now I just need to find the correct hardware. Your photos are a great help. Regards,

Jim
