Mysterious cymbal

Hey Folks- Back in 1980 I bought a Ludwig Club Date outfit with a date stamp of August 22, 1966. The strainer on the matching snare was missing so we had a local dealer put on a Slingerland Slap Shot. Does anyone know what would have been on there originally? Correction- they installed a Rapid strainer.

Your drum should have a P-83 script logo strainer.good thing they used the rapid strainer so no exrta holes were drilled.Does the snare have 6 or 8 lugs?

Most guys don't know the dirty little secret, well, they do, but it's a "dirty little secret"....Wahlberg & Auge made them both (Rapid Strainer and P-83) and the only real difference is the bottom slide part...yeah, I know there are some other "cosmetic" differences, like in the nut, etc...but they are the same design. Look at them side by side. As a matter of fact, it is my favorite vintage strainer. [P-83/Rapid]

The real big diffs are from the lever Rapid: http://entertainment.webshots.com/photo/2012966320094332387EEOYMB
