My worst nightmare comes true during a Vistalite Restore.

Any news on your repair?

I finally used a little of the Weld-On 4 on the 16" floor tom. It had about 1 inch of one seam that had a little give to it at the edge (this is a pattern F which has *lots* of seams unlike the regular solid color Vistalites). I applied just a little of the Weld-On 4 with the applicator bottle to partially fill the seam and it worked great. It's been 24 hours and it's as solid as the rest of the seams on that drum.

The bass drum is going to be the interesting one to see if I can repair since it is in several pieces so clamping the pieces together and maintaining the correct shape will be tough.

Yeah.. work got my busy, but I've found the WeldOn 4 to be effective in bonding things together. The trick to it working is that the pieces have to fit together perfectly... which makes it ideal for cracks.

I'm still working on the set... I'll let you know when I win.

For your drum in pieces, WeldOn 16 is thicker and has some plastics in it, so it will bond jagged stuff together a bit better. IF you can get the drum clamped together so the breaks line up perfectly, 4 is the best pick... if NOT, try 16

so far, WeldOn #4 appears to have sucessfully worked everywhere I've tried it to this point. try to get the job done in a short time because of the stong fumes... other than that. it's a win.

It is probably to late, but this is the kind of article topics I need for the sites. Some before and after pictures. The tightening of the lugs...

There are people all over the world that are looking for these tid bits of information and if they find it before they start a restoration on vistalites they will be saved from the sleepless nights.

Unless you want other people to feel your pain Mister T :)
