I recently thinned out the herd from thirteen vintage drum sets to four vintage drum sets. I kept my pristine 1963 Leedy Black Diamond Pearl Shelly Manne set (13,16,20, matching snare) and my near pristine 1968 Slingerland Lilac Satin Flame set (12,13,16,20, matching 1961 snare).

The other two sets that I kept are a 1950's Gretsch Sky Blue Pearl cocktail outfit with bongo tom and popcorn snare in good player's condition and my White 3-D Moire re-wrapped orphans bop set. Today I performed some maintenance on the little white orphan set. The drums consist of a 7 x 11 pre-World War Two Leedy tom, a 16 across x 12 deep 1950s Leedy Tenor drum converted to floor tom, 1960s Slingerland 18 x 16 deep floor tom converted to a bass drum--Leedy lugs replaced Slingy lugs, and a mid 1960s Camco 5 x 14 Tuxedo snare drum in original wrap. This little drum set is ready to go for any gig right now.
