My Star drums for play in a retro style!

Loading...

My friends!

Last March I bought this Star drumkit in Black Agate Pearl finish (with some yellow tint...). Sounds very good! And I love the wrap...! I'm going to put some white coated Ambassadors (20", 12", 14" and 16") in them, very soon.

The kit is in very good condition. Just the snare throw-off is broken...

Please, anybody knows if there is a replacement? I'd like to mantain that vintage look!

In other hand, I've been learning a lot by reading your posts. Thanks a lot for your kindness in show us your experience and knowledge. Regards!

Nice looking kit!! Is the snare throw broken or is it just missing the handle? The handle just screws in and they have a habit of getting lost. The photo shows a Star handle on the right. I'm sure forum member Mikey777 will be able to sort out a replacement for you. Good luck.

Fayray, thanks for your words and suggestions!

The mechanism is broken... I've dissambled the throw-off and doesn't have something where to put the handle. I will ask to Mikey777...

Regards!

Yes, Mikey is man to ask. It shouldn't be too hard to get a replacement throw off.

Nice kit, Lalodrums. Although I'd prefer to keep the cymbals closer to the toms.

@Fayray: what I already wanted to ask you: do you know whether there is a small white plastic piece in the 'check rail' at the strainer to improve the sliding of the lever from 'ON' to 'OFF'? My DrumMate had this little part - but the lever was missing.

Do your STAR snare drums have this part as well?

Attached please find a poor drawing of mine, indicating what I mean (well, I hope it does!).

Hi, Ralf!

Hope all is well.

I have six of those strainers for my Star snares and none has the plastic piece that you speak of.

Take care, my friend.

Brian

Wait ... where are my glasses? ... Ahh, I ... oh, no ... still not clear! CryBaby

Sorry, but can you, please, kindly take a pic from inside of the strainer with more clear details?

Ralf

Ralf, I haven't got mine at hand at the moment but I'm pretty sure there is no plastic part, the handle just sits straight in with a small nut holding it in place.

Good drawing though.
