My "Other" Orphan Sale: Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretsch, MIT (Royce)

Loading...

This Sale will be hosted over at DFO. I just have to - as being limited to 5 pics per response is a problem. I usually use one response per piece. So - here is the list/info - but to see pics, go see the post at DFO:

http://www.drumforum.org/index.php?/topic/134140-my-other-orphan-sale-a-bit-of-everything/

My Username is the same on both sites.

_______________________

As part of a considerable deal with a music store owner friend of mine - here are the items that do not fit the MIJ category - therefore resulting in a separate ("Other") post.

All pricing does NOT include shipping from 49285

These items are priced to move. Don't mistake the low pricing for low quality/value. I acquired this gear for next to nothing - and so am able to pass on the savings to you and to liquidate this stuff.

Please pay by Paypal. (I will share my address in PMs)

Here is the list:

1) 70s Blue/Olive 15inch Ludwig Marching Snare. Red/White/Red Sparkle (I think that is white - could it be silver?). This needs some work / parts - and it outfitted with the Super-Sensitive type wire system. These 2-tone sparkle drums are becoming more rare I would think. Ask if more details are needed. $30 SOLD

2) 18in Ludwig Tenor in Silver Sparkle. B/O badge. This is one of the best pieces in this lot. It will make someone very happy. This will serve as one of those big drums on the side (can't remember what it is called when some drummers mount bass drums on the side towards the back to play with their sticks (see Bozzio for example). It is in very good condition - perhaps the best of all these. $45 SOLD

3) 1966 26in Slingerland Bass Drum Measuring 10x26 in BDP. There are a few issues with the wrap - but it would not stop me from running this out as a totally unique players BD. If I had some toms - I would consider keeping it myself. I could part this out and make more $ - but would rather see someone gig this sucker out as that is the best use for this rich vintage worn out thumper. It already sounds great with all the standard issue school / institution paper-towel taped to the inside of the heads. I wonder how old that stuff is? - straight out of the bathroom off the big roll for sure! Though the badge is gone, there is a ton of mojo in this drum. Run it with the Luddy heads or through an SKI on here, stand her up with some hoop clamp legs and show 'em whatcha got! All original. Wood hoops. Notice date stamp on the interior. $70 + $15 handling (box) $85 total + shipping via FedEx. SOLD

4) Keystone 1964 Ludwig 15in Marching Snare drum. - will relist this again.....

5) This is just a fun one! 16in REMO PTS FT If you have an elaborate collection - you might have some of these as a historical example of what Remo uniquely offer some 30 years ago. One head has a rip, other is intact. I might even be able to get you more heads if you need. The clips are actually riveted onto the shell. No legs for what appear to be Pearl made leg mounts. You can have this puppy for only $5 - I just ask that you also buy something else as well - for a minimum $20. If you have no need for any orphans - I will be posting a PARTS sale as well in the next 24-48 hrs. UPDATE: DECIDED TO KEEP THIS.

6) 12in and 13in ROYCE toms. White - no mounts. Surprisingly very good thick shells with a sharp bearing edge. Badge says Pro Cussion established 1960. I did not know Royce had been around since that early. My recollection is that Royce had a reputation for being really cheap. While they are Luan, these shells do not look cheap to me. These feature the most common lug of the 20th century - (neck and neck with the Slinger-types). $30 for the pair. Disassembled and nested. SOLD

7) 8in Black Ludwig Concert tom. Actually - this used to be on some marching quads or something. Great construction in solid condition. Simple. Affordable add to your black Luddy. The hoop is a "First Act" replacement (as is the head)! Don't laugh - is was the only 8in head I had laying around - and they are the same single ply heads as what is on our other size drums. Is it payday? Treat yourself to this add-on for only $20. SOLD

8 ) 22in BDP Gretsch BD. I have no idea how old this is - had a grey painted interior - and a grey painted hoop. If you are going to restore this for use - be mindful of the missing lugs, wrap condition, possible ply separation to be glued. The hoops appears to be a bit warped, but I am not sure it will deter it's use. Good pics will be added in the next 48 hrs. The pics are just to get by and wet your appetite I guess. No legs - but barrel leg mounts minus one wing screw. $35. SOLD

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
