My old Pearl Drumset

Loading...

Hi folks,

first of all I want to apologize for my bad English. I'm from Germany and doin' the best I can... ;-)

I suscribed here, because I hope someone can help me to identify my old Pearl drumset.

Here are some links where you can see the drumset and I'd really like to know:

-When was it built

and

-What's it's value (if it's got any value anyway...)

Ain't got no snare, no bassdrum pedal, no hihat, no cymbal stands

I'm thankful for every answer...

All the best from Germany

First of all, I am quite certain you English is far superior to my German so no need to apologize at all.

Those are "battle ship" lugs and, if I am not mistaken that would have been one of last iteration of the "MIJ" entry level drum kit prior to moving up to the production of higher end kits. I suppose that makes it an early 70's kit? That tom mount is not original and was added later.

There are plenty of guys here that know way more than I that can be far more helpful. That is a good looking kit.

Pearl didn't make "Battleship" lug drums that were branded with a "Pearl" badge for very long. More were stencils, like my "Dixie" snare drum. They switched to the well known lug type-does it have a name?-"Diamond ?"soon after this type. Maybe 2 years-MAYBE-. After looking at the 1969 catalog page, where the "Battleship" lug drums have a chrome script badge, I'm going to guess this set was made in 70-71 as a leftover because of the newer badge. That 7/8" pipe mount is a later addition, like 1978.

Thanx to both of you for your replies and the interesting information so far!

It is apparently not so easy to assign....
