Thanks for all the details DT Farmer. I suspected as much on the B/O badge swap, I think you might be right. Nice clear interior on the bass drum which according to the construction timeline hopefully puts the drum 68, 69 at the latest?

Also, I have a rewrapped 6 1/2 x 14, 1950's WFL Ray McKinley (I'm going to rewrap again to match.) Would the right choice be Bermuda Sand? Check out the options from Precision.

I don't think the bermuda is hex glitter which is what's on the Ludwigs. I think the closest would be vintage nickel sparkle. I called Precision about it [before I got the SS Club Dates] and requested swatches of the nickel and their silver sparkle. The lady hadn't heard of vintage nickel sparkle but she called Delmar and they do make it but don't have it, might be special order. Still waiting on the swatches...pic shows vns.

The other route would be using the silver sparkle and somehow aging it nicely...hmmm

Cool. Maybe we can do a team order if you want anything DTF. I have a shipping address that's convenient.

That's a great idea...

I bought some wrap from precision (level D) a cpl yrs back..

When our dollars were pretty even..

But shipping to Canada was another $80/????

So a drum buddy (Emory) of mine took shipment of it in Buffalo & I was taking my gals shopping..(so we made a day of it)

Otherwise now with +30% & shipping ...it's expensive period.

For vns we might have to wait for Ludwig or Tama to order another run, they're the only ones who used it I think...unless we can get 50,000 people on our team order :) I'm starting to suspect the vns swatch is what's holding up my package from Precision.

There's this place - http://www.drumsandsome.com/DRUMWRAP2.html - but the site seems wonky and I haven't tried to contact them yet...I wouldn't worry too much about how yellowy it looks in their picture - I need to see that swatch!

I have a Pioneer to possibly wrap, was thinking - what sparkle finish would look cool with silver sparkle you can't match?....titanium or gun-metal?

Shipping could certainly break the deal...

Thanks Human71! There was someone else who was coming the day after I got there. I had a friend in the town... He was able to get them for me. $650 CAD = $470 USD

Lol ! Awesome deal.. Hopefully i'll be as lucky as you one day ;)

I never thought I'd be one of those guys to get a kit like this so cheap too... Until THIS happened! Keep looking. ;)

Downtown Farmer hooked me up with the cymbal mount holder and I had an L-Arm repro from my Gretsch 3-ply days. He also got a sample for the Vintage Nickel Sparkle wrap from Precision. Thanks buddy! Looks like it is the closest so far. Here are some pics of the Vintage Nickel Sparkle sample against the drums. My (already) re-wrapped 1955 WFL Ray Mckinley is crying out for a close to matching wrap. Lemme know what you think guys!

The vns seems red-cast compared to the finish on your drums. Not good for patches but a snare wrapped in it might go well with the kit. Myself I was just glad to see it looked as shown in the Ludwig pic and not the Tama pic. Gorgeous wrap! Definitely would be my first choice for a re-wrapped kit. There's just the minor issue of acquiring two or three sheets...:) I still have not contacted "drumsandsome" to see if they have it in stock.

So I ordered a few more samples from Precision and they came right away. Those folks are awesome. Here are a few pictures of various samples against the 13" mounted tom. I would appreciate feedback on what you guys think might look best. (PS: Regarding aging wrap - in my case Silver Sparkle) If BEC thinks a smokey bar is the best way, what's the next best thing when there are no smokey bars around? A super low heat BBQ smoker?
