My Ludwigs at work.

Well, gee this is our fourth gig this year, 3 more than last year, lol. So I brought the oyster blue kit that I found on CL years ago. When I brought these home I told my wife "these will never leave the house" Well, I just had to take them out and see how they sound. Sound was excellent all-thought the kick spurs were failing due to the rubber floating floor tom feet (which I took off) and they would loosen up, so I tightened them with pliers. If I gig these again I think I would replace the wing nuts with regular nuts and use a wrench. But the sound was great and enjoyed playing them.

Thank you!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thank Gary, good idea! Not sure if I will take them out again, I built that Ludwig Zebra wood kit for gigging but I wanted to gig each kit thats worth while before selling them. Be hard to let this one go. This kit is one of my nicer ones with no extra holes or wrap issues other than a little faded.

Thank you!

By the way, that logo and the JC were printed on computer paper and adhered with double sided tape, not too bad huh.

Thank you, that reso head is the one I was talking about in the logo removal thread. Removed all the tape and junk with lacquer thinner and then sprayed the inside with white primer. Came out good considering I was going to throw it away.

Thank you!

Thank you Mike, a few years ago I couldn't picture myself gigging enough to gig every kit but somehow it is happening.

Thank you!

JC, are the legs repro? almost looks like they are too long, being out that far might be what is causing them to slip, too much leverage.

That is the fix Jeff. Those aren't the correct legs for that bass drum. Beautiful set! No video???? The Band
