My latest "drum run." Picked up another marching band drum line to do (Wamego, Ks Middle School). Will be recovering (and minor repairs) some 80s Pearls... and they're paying me with their "old stuff:"

Boy Bill, I thought you were "slowing down", lol. But that looks like a fun project, any idea what the will be wrapped in? And, what is the "old stuff"

You will do a great job, we all know that much.

Thank you!

Well, the school's colors are red, black, and white. Originally we were just going with the simple, solid white like they were... but I'm also exploring price on a solid red. The drums I'm doing are a set of 5 bass drums (14x18, 14x20, 14x22, 14x24, and 14x26) and one set of quads (13, 12, 10, 8), all 80s Pearl.

What I got in return was a set of 4 Ludwig bass drums (90s Monroe badges 14x20, 14x22, 14x24, 14x26), a matching set of quads (13, 12, 10, 8), a matching 12x14 parade drum (p-87 throwoff), a 90s Pearl 12x14 parade drum (not sure of the series) and a 60s Slingerland 10x28 marching bass drum. All drums are in solid white except the Slingy; it's red sparkle. Also, all of the drums are complete and only need minor repair. Heads are even in great shape. IF I were him, I'd been keeping the Ludwigs! Their wrap hasn't even yellowed much!

And all drums except the Slingy and the largest Ludwig BD were in the van in the picture (I'll pick those two up when I deliver their drums back in 3-4 weeks). He's also going to shake the bushes (so-to-speak) for anything else percussion they might have hidden somewhere, as he thought they had a couple of "student model" snare drums packed away somewhere! (and of course I'm hoping for some OLD ones!

He has also helped me set up two more possible HS/MS jobs, but neither of them will be until next summer.

BTW, hope you had a great day on your birthday!

Thanks Bill!

Hey I might be interested in that 26" bass drum, if you want to part with it that is. Might have interest in some of the other drums as well. How a bout a trade, drums for finish work?

Thank you!

Wow... started looking at what I got in return. Actually, all is in pretty good shape; nothing is in need of anything more than minor repairs. BD hoops do need touched up paint-wise, and one does need replaced. Heads are all in great shape.

So, IF anyone knows of a school marching band in need of a drum line, here's what I have available:

Bass Drums (90s Ludwig, NC Keystone Badges):

14x20, 14x22, 14x24, and 14x26. Nice set in progressive sizes.

Quads (90s Ludwig, NC Keystone Badges):

11x13, 10x12, 8x10, 6x8 cut-aways, complete with carrier.

Parade drums:

12x14 Ludwig (90s NC Keystone Badge, 12 lug, P-87 throwoff)

12x14 Pearl (90s, heavy-duty super-sensitive type throwoff, 12 lug)

All are solid white. I don't have carriers for any but the quads.

I would make any public or private school a good deal on the whole matching set. Will be posting in the "for sale" section...

Those Ludwig snares are great. Our band used them in the 80s but they are MIA now. I bet someone tried to install Kevlar and collapsed all of the shells...
