LudwigLover:

NEVER........I repeat: NEVER let that kit go!

It's flat out gorgeous and just "screams" vintage.Bowing

And..........I'm sure she sounds just as good as she looks!

I've attached a pic of a distant relative (lol) from the "Club Date" side of the family.

I got her new in 1963 and don't plan on moving her anytime soon.

ENJOY your kit and THANKS for sharing!

One tip to you guys if you want that really vintage sound out of the bass drum.....lose the hole in the front head. Put a solid head on the front again and use felt strips for muffling with nothing else in the drum. It will sound HUGE! :D

No that's true old-skool vintage! :D

Wow!! Nice kit. My future buy is a Luddy from the 60's.And it will be a keeper!

I just can't get rid of what I buy. I hope I don't wind up on Horders Anonymous.

I'll have to post some pictures of my 1962 SBp Super Classic when I'm done....It will look like the third pea in the pod, with your clubdate and downbeat.

Ludwig-dude:

I happen to agree with you (as usual)!

I've got a solid head with felt strips on my Ludwig '64 Oyster Black Pearl kit and my Ludwig '68 White Marine Pearl Downbeat kit and the sound truly is "Old School"!

Thanks for the tip!
