Q-Bass...I am in SF and I do the edge and resto work for Sam Adato's Drum Shop (if you call there, he will refer you...to me).I can recut those edges for you if you like. Jeez...it must be the season or something, because I have had a half-dozen bearing edge jobs so far this year.I'll need the shell(s) for 2-3 days and it'll run $35-50 altogether (depending on whether you want me to tung oil finish 'em afterward, which I recommend). That's assuming you do the regluing. if you want me to do the whole sh'bang, add another $20....e-mail me if you like.

You were the guy i talking about..cool that you replyed i was not sure if i should P/M Q-bass and give him your info...Oh by the way did you get that W&A set on C/L?? i have emailed the seller 12 times with no reply....Mikey

Hi All,

Just wanted to report that Jaye did a fantastic job on my shells. The bearing edges look flawless.

I'm sure I'll be posting additional questions as I continue with this project.

Thanks again for the help!

Does the rack tom sound better now? No further choked sound?

My first thought (reading this thread for the first time today) was,

that the tom arm mount could be the reason for a choked sound,

as one of my previous drumsets also hat splitted bearing edges,

but that didn't effect the sound.

Is the sustain of the rack tom better, if you beat the head while

holding the drum with your other hand (rim between the fingers)?
