Well shucks... I guess it's time to give it back to the rightful owner...CryBaby

This was my first time touching a DYNA-SONIC... man that throw off is smoooooth.

Ploughman.. thanks for your help!

Tommyp I followed your Dyna set up guide... I think the owner will like it. It does need new heads and wires but I was requested not to spend over $50 on it.

I had to do a custom tab bending job on some old wires I had to get them to lay on the frame right... it works... certainly not ideal.

I'm going to write him up a little "recommendations" list and include some sources and prices.

Hey!! Christmas is close and if you got my name in the Vintagesnaredrums.com gift exchange... now you know what to get me. Just say Dyna:)

Jim!...

Absolutely beautiful job on this Dynasonic! Kudos to you, and then some! All anyone need do is check the BEFORE pics at the front of this thread... and then have a look at THIS pic. The "owner" of this drum got a heck of a deal... and ... there is no doubt in my mind that you got to enjoy the intangible that only comes from personally working on a project like this. Nice job!!

Wow!! The Dyna came home to roost! :) Can't remember when I started this thread but I know it was several years ago. Since that time the co-worker I cleaned this Dyna for had retired and I had lost track of him but a mutual friend and colleague had been in contact with him on and off over the years... so the other day our mutual friend calls me says "Hey Jim I got a drum for you... Nick says play this Dyna-Sonic until you get tired of it." I feel very fortunate... it needs a little work again to get her ready to put behind the kit but it will be back on stage sometime in the near future. What a great surprise!

Here's when you started the thread. You and the owner of that snare drum are a couple of really patient folks:

A little under two more years and you could have reached a decade!

Enjoy it!
