My Crazy Sonors.....

Loading...

I posted this in the other forum too to get info about them if any is available.

I got the tom stand, drums and throne (Snare stand not included) for 600$. Phonic Plus 80's era. I'd say that's an OK price for this critter? Agree? or did I get hosed?

You guys will laugh, I told my wife I bought them for our Son... who isn't born yet!!!

Really I wanted something that was older and I was comfortable taking out of the house... I have a Ludwig Classic maple kit I special ordered some years ago, and that being my only drum kit, I'm shy to take it around. And I am NOT BUYING ANY MORE LUAN CHEAPIE DRUMS!! Reality was, I wasn't looking for these specifically... or Sonor at all. Just something that meets the config that I like. and here they were. I'm quite fond of this set.

This set screams "Rock Power" with the big drums, it sounds great, and the heavy duty build makes me more comfortable transporting. The finish not being glossy is less likely to show wear.. The perfect road set!!

"Road".. ha ha. I play gigs as far as 20 miles from home.

Even though the phonics were sonors least expensive pro line for awhile they still don't bring as much as you would think, considering the quality that they are,but I think good used 4/5 pcs w/o out snare are going for what you paid.Plus I have seen cannister throne's going for crazy prices,so I think you got a great deal, you can spend 400.00 easy for a decent players kit.

Actually Wayne, I wasn't referring to this kit as a cheapie. I wanted a durable kit that I was comfortable taking out to shows.. These fit the bill well. They are heavy duty, sound great, and look cool. I don't want to take my big Ludwig Classic maple kit out of the studio... so I wanted a second (less valuable) kit that was not a Taiwan junker. 600$ for a kit this size in cheapie junk drums can be expected at most places I've been to. Best road kit to date I've seen was Ludwig Epic... Taiwan, 780$... not as heavy duty....... I prefer the big bad Sonors. Everyone who has heard them thinks they are really great. I tend to agree.
