Just received the matching snare to my Ludwigs. Thank you very much John (Purdie Shuffle). It is a 1964 jazz fest red sparkle. What a beautiful drum. She looks very nice in her spot too. And i love the sound. Awesome snare drum.

I now have matching snares with all my kits. My collection is completed. Still got my eyes open for a few more of those awesome ludwig stands i got from Manny and a few more cymbals, but other then that i am done. Hoping to focus on that camco kit and get it back together and playing again.

Again...thank you john.

Robyn, I love your optimistic view on a completed collection. It should read

"I now have matching snares with all my kits. My collection is completed...for now!"

Beautiful. I'm all about the matching snare too :)

Congrads, It's beautiful kit. I know the feeling when you score a set of Vintage Ludwigs. Ludwig Rules.

robyn - The heads are not originals, but they are new/old stock REMOs. I completely detailed and then tuned the drum for you before I shipped it out. I wanted to make sure it was ready to rock right out of the box. You can swap out the heads if you want to, but the ones on there are new and have a ton of life in them. Your drum... your call.

NOS Ludwig heads (the original Ludwig heads) are hard to find, but if you look around you may come up with a set.

Beautiful set Robyn! Ya I too love a kit with matching snares, thats why I always try to get a snare drum to include with my veneer jobs. And I hear ya when you say that your collection is complete and you want to get back to playing. When I first became a member here I was just starting to play again, then I got wrapped up (no pun intended) into restoring drums. At some point I really wanted to work less and play more. Now I have a band going and I am loving it. But the love for these old drums is hard to ignore, so that's why I am still buying them at times. Im sure you will do the same, especially when you see one on craigs list in your town for real cheep.

I think the music room is wonderful, have fun in there, you have some beautiful drums!

Thank you!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
