Must remove original grommet to flatten badge. Worth it?

I'm prone to fixing stuff but after seeing the pics, I don't think that's bad enough to warrant fixin'. Another vote to leave it be!

Take a rollerskate and use the wheel to go over that thing til it forms back. It has worked a lot.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Nice drum! It appears to have nickel hardware on it. I'd suggest Cape Cod cleaning cloths on the hardware. Those will clean and shine it up well.

As for the badge, it's definitely not bad enough to mess with at all. I was expecting to see it bent to hell, and it looks like it's barely pulled up. You would definitely hurt the value of the drum if you replaced it with a new grommet.

Thanks so much for the replies and suggestions, folks!

I just ordered some Cape Cod Cleaning Cloths for the nickel.

Cool idea re: the rollerskate wheel; I'll definitely give it a try!

Regarding the drum, it's a really great one, I think. it's got a really fat, warm tone and records really well.

Not a bad badge at all, leave it as is. I fully agree with Brew . . . Cape Cod cleaning cloths work great. Am redoing a '63 nickle Pioneer right now and they work wonders.
