Mounting 12" Ludwig

Loading...

When i bought my Ludwig kit (2nd hand) it came with Rogers hardware. The tom holder is not sturdy at all. It also has 4 small tension rods that screw in the ball socket in order to secure the tom in place. I find this inconvenient and trying to find a replacement. Is there any hardware i could use in it's place which is more heavy duty and has a single knob to tighten?

Also, another way round is to buy a single tom holder instead but it seems that nowadays they make the rods on the end of the multi clamps bigger. Can you buy tom holders that are designed for these vintage hardware?

Thanks very much

I would look for a replacement rail consolette with the 9.5mm "L" rod tom arm on e-bay; they usually have both original vintage and new consolettes available--will require drilling four holes on the BD shell, tho... FYI
