Mounted calf heads-Vega Banjo Co. Drum

Loading...

[SIZE="5"][SIZE="6"]I have a late 1800's Vega Banjo Company snare drum & the snare head has split.

I've read threads on tucking heads, but I feel I would rather purchase a tucked head & be done with it.

Can anyone recommend a quality place for obtaining a tucked calfskin snare head?

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

I'd like to see some photos. Vega wasn't in business in the late 1800's, they made banjos in the early part of the 20th century, & they're not known to make drums. The banjo "pot" is sometimes called the "drum".

Try to get some good photos of the bearing edge/ tone ring from the inside of the pot.
