Most bad-ass sounding Ludwigs I've heard in awhile

Loading...

I recently got to hear the Keystone series Oak/Maple that's new from ludwig.. those things bring the BOOM! very powerful tone. Have a listen if you see any.

Those are the Classic Maples. I don't think that's what the poster was speaking of.

The Keystone line seems to come in at a pretty fair price. Inner/outter plys are red oak and the 3 core plys are maple. Bit limited on finishes and component drums/configurations though.

Not the best sound recording but here they are....

Keystone is OAK inside and out... they are Wrap finish only... about 3-4 sparkle wraps... They have a more thunderous tone than Clasic Maple... I have Classic Maple now... they sing and are very tonal... .. Keystones are more of a boomer.

i was hoping the store i worked at would get atleast one kit before the year was over, but after 50 yrs in the biz-we just closed down.damn....now i have to pay retail!

they sound great (atleast thru a video) probibly the only kit i would consider buying if i need to.you can only reinvent the wheel so many times.looks like ludwig is ahead of the game on this one.

i've worked for a custom drum company and in a retail store,as well as worked the namm show from 93-08.and year after year its usually the same thing with a different color or a different stick,etc...finally something new and cool.

The set I saw was at Taw's drum works... Avon OH. They told me to check it out... it'd have a sound I liked.. (RockNRoll)... they were right.
