Modernizing a Slingerland solid shell snare

Loading...

Hello all,

There is no use in restoring this drum into a collectors item, as it's shell has been tinkered with too much before I got it. However it's rock solid and in perfect round. I would like to gather suggestions on how, or who, could replace the clamshell throw off and install a more modern one. Basically, the throw off is not handling rock music to well- even after I spent countless hours finding a compromise.

Anyways, some of you are probably cringing at the idea but want to use it for a long time to come....on the road and in the studio.

Thanks for any help!

I have a bastarized RK solid maple clamshell drum too,and I want to put a different strainer on it.

p-83's always work well, and are common........I might go with that.......
