Yeah, Mitch changed his drum setup pretty frequently during his time with Hendrix. He played Premier at Monterey Pop, Ludwig Black Panthers at Woodstock, and Gretsch at the Isle of Wight. I think I've seen a thread elsewhere on the forum giving the whole history of his kits, but I can't for the life of me remember where.

Either way, I just love his drumming. I started drumming around the same time I first discovered Hendrix (at age 14), so you can imagine the impact Mitch's playing had on an impressionable new drummer. He was as adventurous on his instrument as Hendrix was on guitar.
