Missing part (s) from pedal

Loading...

Can someone help me. I have this old pedal ... looks like 1920-30's Ludwig when looking at the foot part) but doesnt have any stamps or logos. It is missing something but what it is? A leather strap or what?

I would be happy to know if someone can tell me the make, but more important is the missing part. A photo of similar pedal could help too.

Have you checked out the 1922 Ludwig catalogue from this website?

http://www.drumarchive.com/Ludwig/

I think, the pedal can be seen on the front cover.

The foot plate is similar to an early Ludwig, but I've never seen an upright piece like that.

Check pages 16-18 of the 1923 catalog. The piece on the right side strikes a cymbal. Maybe other catalogs as well.

Click on the "vintage drum guide" section in the upper right header. Towards to bottm of that page you'll see a pic of a speed king and "vintage bass drum pedals" below the pic. Click on it and it'll show you a few different pedals that look like yours. Looks like it's just missing the S shaped metal part going to the pedal from the linkage. I'd think you should be able to fab something workable while you find a replacement.
