How do y'all feel about Craigslist ads that tag brand names that aren't affiliated with the item being sold? For example, if I search "Ludwig" on the Houston Craigslist I'm going to receive results for ads selling nothing but Tama and DW, but at the bottom of the ad there will be a list of brand names including Ludwig.

Do you flag these ads or do you think this is a fine way of getting attention for an ad?

I've not flagged anyone... but maybe that's not a bad idea. I usually just ignore them and move on.

And, for what it's worth, I've given up on being the nice guy and trying to help someone who has listed something totally wrong. I gave up when last fall someone in an area within easy driving distance put up a used Yamaha student set (SD and bell set) for $500. I responded with an Amazon.com link that had the exact set NEW for $349 and that included shipping so they might want to reconsider their price or had maybe simply made a mistake. I got several messages back from that seller telling me (and not in nice terms) that I needed to stay out of their business and that they could ask whatever they wanted out of it, it was THEIR set and not mine...

Oh well...

Wow! I've seen bell sets going for $260 in Houston and that's without a snare.

I have an app that alerts me whenever an add is posted in Houston, San Antonio, Austin or Dallas with the word Ludwig, and 75% of them don't have anything to do with Ludwig. I'm thinking of starting to flag those ads, but I want the community to weigh in first.

I'm not sure why I posted this in the For Sale section. Could a mod please move it to the main board? Thanks!

I agree that sometimes it gets annoying with those tags. i dont mind it as much when say the Ludwig search brings up other quality brand search results, whether it be new or other vintage drums.

What i hate, is when they tag stuff in a 3piece Percussion Plus or First Act drum kit ad.. I also live in the Houston area!
