Keep the faith fellow drummers, miracles DO happen. I bought this Ludwig Supraphonic with Keystone badge, case, and two Ludwig snare stands at a local thrift store today for $5.00! The serial number on the badge is 744864. I have not even cleaned it up yet, that's why it looks dirty. The chrome looks great, no flakeing, just needs cleaning. ExcitedExcited

Wow, what a score, I've played that snare for years, not THAT one, have a good time cleaning it up, well worth it.
Here's my $5.00 drum after being cleaned and polished. Chrome is in excellant condition. I found a date stamped inside that is 1969.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's what it's all about!
Looks like one of the first P-85's, very cool!
do they have any more......I'm willing to pay 10 bucks for a 6.5...lol
Just curious what kind of shop? A local thrift or Salvation Army?
Hi. It wasn't the Salvation Army, it's just a local thrift shop here in North Carolina.
I got a good deal this weekend too, so I agree to miracles can happen. I have been on the right side of the street on quite a few deals. My latest, I answered an online ad for drums for 50 bucks. Called the people and made a 30 minute drive south. The pictures of the ad were of 4 drums, bass drum, a box of hardware and a cymbal. Drove down there and when I got there the guy who lived there said he found another drum. The "other" drum was a 1976 supraphonic in good condition. The cymbal was a 20 Zildjian ride (hollow logo) drum are Rogers/Unknown. Hardware was mish mash, but the drum pedal is original Camco. Being a fair person, I told them the snare wasn't in the ad, so I would give the 70 instead of 50......
