Anyone else had this Craigslist experience?
An offer to buy your drum stuff from someone claiming:
to be in the military
on a military base,
with no phones.
Pay Pal only
Oh, yes, and out of state.
I got one of those today.
From a Sgt. Reyes.
With an email sig "This We'll Defend"
I guess this is an old CL scam tactic.
It is just wrong.
Come on people..........our military guys (and gals)???
Jajaja That is an old scam the send me a check when I went to cash at bank, They told me they were trying to find the person that was issue checks from that account. The account was for deposit only and some one had stolen code to make fraudulent checks. Thank God I did not ship merchandise. This person was in the army also and wanted to send some one to pick up. Lucky I said no.
There were clues that something was not right.
The phrasing, spelling and grammar in the text were a little incorrect or off for a military man.
The "out of the state" thing was a complete deal beaker.
This was a cash and local pick-up deal only.
When I replied, I added a "continue on" question.
Define what a paradiddle is?
Never heard back.
But a nice, "real" drummer guy did come over today and purchase the 3 piece Ludwig Stainless Kit.
He was pleasant and very normal.
