MIJ "Club Date" Style Kit Restore

I would say that is a HUGE SUCCESS! I really does have alot of class, and I bet it sound great as well!

What is the snare shell? Thick or thin w/ rings?

Interesting that the FT is a thin shell with rings while everything else is the thicker shell without the rings. Then, you used a pinstripe on the FT and regular 1-ply on everything else. Was this on purpose? Do they all sound like a good match?

Yeah - we want to know where you got the wrap - as it sure is sharp!

BTW - yeah, I have also been very fortunate that I have several MIJ stencil strainers that are working just fine. I recall in my youth when I ran into those, practically none of them worked and had broken levers. Perhaps there is more TLC in general going around for those with a more knowledgeable appreciation. I would have gone with a P-83 instead of the P-85, but if budget was a concern, I understand why you used the P-85.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I'm glad you dig them!

I got the wrap from Precision Drum Company. They are very good to work with.

Drummerjohn333, that's actually a Powerstroke 3 on the floor tom and bass drum, not Pinstripes (Pinstripes have one stripe; Powerstroke 3's have two). Powerstroke 3's are single ply; basically an Ambassador with a built in muffling ring. I love them on floor toms and bass drums.

The snare is 3-ply with re-rings. Sounds fantastic!

Great job, I am working on a Star stagelite (clubdate) resto atm, I as you intend to create a 15x16 centre lug f/tom, where did you get the tension rods for this, as you know they are at least 6 1/4'' long? I am buiding it up around a 14x14 f/tom that I have an all oriinal drums except the 16'' f/tom which is pearl shell.
