MIJ Lug I.D.

Loading...

Does anyone know what this MIJ lug is? Not sure if it is vintage or off brand generic. I don't need it and would like to get it to someone who does.

Thanks

Looks like a Tama Swingstar lug to me but I could be wrong.

Looks to maybe one that Rogers drum on the 360 line of drums they made in the 70s..

Or Ludwig used that type of looking lugs on the Combo line of drums in the late 80s when they were used up the three ply shells they had in stock..

Am

any marking on the inside of the lug.

Thanks guys. I think neorich is correct. It appears to be Tama. It is stamped "Japan CS 1" inside. Found a pic of this 80s Royalstar snare on Reverb. Looks like the exact lug. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Dan!

Yes, certainly looks like a Tama lug! Another way to tell if it's Tama is by checking the hole spacing, which should be 1-15/16". Tama used the same spacing as Rogers for their beavertail snare drum lugs.

This is exactly correct Mark as that's how this lug came into my possession, on a Rogers Powertone. I replaced it with a proper beavertail lug a while back.

I've been sorting through a bunch of parts I don't need and had no idea what this lug was. I've never owned Tama. I knew the knowledge bank here would know!

I didn't recognize it as a Tama until you posted the picture of it on a snare drum! Tama has had so many lug designs that it's near impossible to keep up with them!

It's almost exact,...the Tama snare pic is recessed lines and the opening pic is raised lines. But more than likely Tama/Pearl/CB.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

It's an optical illusion in the first pic of my lug. The lines are actually recessed.
