MIJ 'Club Date' - are these worth the work?

For $60 (or so) around where I live...I'm guessing all that stuff is painted right onto the wood.

Is it worth it to try and rehab the kit, get something nice out of it?

I would check them out. It's a prime candidate for a paint refinish. Paint is cheap and there are worse things out there that you could do for some up and coming drummer or church or club that doesn't have the scratch for a kit.

For a drumset in this condition, 60 bucks are still too much. I'd pay less than half of it - or even almost nothing.

Bass drum spurs are obviously newer ones and I wonder how easy you may take off the black colour at the chrome hoops and lugs.

You won't make money with it, but have to spend a lot of time into the restoration process. If you wonna take it as a good object for lessons in cleaning and restoring: go ahead. Otherwise not.

That is one ugly a$$ set of drums. Id buy it and paint it just to rescue the poor thing.

I'd pay $60 for em. So you got a few bucks in paint...and a decent looking kit to beat on after you're done. Good deal in my book!
