mid 70's Sonor drum set info

Loading...

Hello-I am looking for some help with my Sonor 5 piece drum set that I purchased in the mid 1970s and has been in its cases for the past 30 years or so. I have attached some pictures and would really like to know what they might be worth today. I have attached the catalog and price list from when I purchased. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Nice set of Champions... very fine drums, evidently in excellent condition.

For an estimate of sale value, drum sizes and snare model are important details to know.

Are you including all stands and cymbals? If so, ID the make and sizes of cymbals.

The market is really tough these days. I'd hang on to those and wait for better times!

Without the smaller tom, you have a complete 4/pc six ply Champion kit, I think, because I can`t see the edges or badge on the FT. The smaller tom is either a Super Champion or Phonic because I can`t see the badge. The eight lug BD is Champion too, the Super Champion would have ten.

The Matalic Silver wrap is not faded at all and would clean up well. That`s a big plus.

As is,..I would start with $600 (no wrap fade, all the feet) in this market, after a good disassemble and detail,..and new heads all around I`d go $900, then sell off the smaller for $100 US. after detailing.

I have the same wrap,(77) exposed and it`s turned kida greenish Pearl color !!

All this could change, only if you`ve done damage with that pillow or blanket in the BD. (not needed)

Small logo Champion series ran for 4 years without Centennial Badges, 80`s, large logo Champion series have totally different lugs, mounts and where downgraded to beginner kits.

Thanks for the comments. I did add the smaller 8 x 12 tom a few years later if I remember correctly and it has the attached badge/label. I would be including stands and cymbals which if I recall are Zildjian 23''ride, 16" crash, 14' New beat hi hats. The 18" has a crack.

Again, I have been out of it for almost 30 years now so i'm really not familiar with the market, etc. thanks again.

The 12x8 Phonic tom will go so fast on the market you may offer $150 to start, reason is that Centennial badge ran one year of orders, then they changed the layouy of the badge. It should be nine ply spoonbit 45 degree edge.
