Well, you know they are solid, and if you want a loud set, then maybe. But you know how I am....if you can get them for less....they are MIJ, afterall....Pearl or Yamaha?

I think $300 is all the money for the 3 drums.If it's a set with a snare and some hardware,that's pretty good.Nice color,though.I personally like these era drums,luan or not.My regular playout set is a 12,13,16,22 Royce tom/Export bass set.Needed to replace the non-roadworthy hex rod mounts with Tama L-rods,but I like the 70's round sound.Replacing the Royce bass with an Export gave me the same lugs as the Royces and good spurs.

I do have to agree with Tom. Only if the snare is included, all the stands and related goodies. I just have a problem paying 300 for these kits unless there is something really special about it. Like a really cool finish. or some hard to find something about that kit. And since it is not 20/12/14, I like 200 more.

I agree on the price assessment. I separate Japanese drums of the 60s and the Japanese drums manufactured in Taiwan in the 70s in price- I pay about 300$ for a 60`s very nice MIJ in a nice wrap in good cond. A 70`s set in a solid color wrap and rock sizes is alot less collectible these days and would be 200$ or less for me personally.

An example is a Yamaha mid 70s Luan kit I bought for hardware- the parts are in fine shape after I stripped, washed and polished them but I just threw the shells away- they were very cheap quality to begin with and age had not treated them well. On the flip side- similar level stuff from 75 and earlier I have aquired is much more solid and has stood the test of time.
