These drums sound great!! Ive been using these until I find a buyer. My friend asked me to sell them for him and in return I can gig them until they sell. The asking price is 800$ plus shipping for a 20/13/16 and 14x4 (I think) snare drum. PM me if you think you want to purchase these.

Beautiful kit, you need to put it in the gallery!!!!Jumping2
Always liked that color...
Someday.. its on the list...
Nice! Nothing like a Sonor "Tear Drop". Nice flat base vintage stands to go along...
Do you play a little jazz on her? Describe the tone for us if you like??

Most people even me like to relate the "jazz sound" to Gretsch RB drums but these sonors sound as good and in my opinion better than the round badge drums I own.By better I mean if you want that classic jazz tone from the 50's and 60's which is what I like a set of drums to sound like, then you might want to get some vintage sonors.I wish I could find an 18 inch sonor bass drum. And I should mention that I dont own these sonors but I am using them until I find a buyer. Im selling these a for friend and he agreed to let me gig them until a buyer comes up Ive had them for a few months now.The asking price is 800$ plus shipping for a 20/13./16 and matching 14x4 or 4 1/2 not sure snare drum. PM me if your interested.
The teardrop 18" kit is rarer than Gretsch bop.
so I built it. lol
yeah, If you want That Gretsch sound, buy them. I have too.
Actually this Sonor kit is very different than Gretsch's.
You can't get that great boxy sound, Sonor is much more resonant and full body sound.
Thinnest shells out there . Period.
I measured the 12" tom Beech shell thickness on my Tear Drop kit to be a mere 3.5mm! The reason for the warm resonance...

It's 3 ply isn't it?
I've never played 3 plies. I have 12" 3 ply though. not built yet.
6 ply would be better IMHO.
Yes, The sonors are made from European Beech 3 ply. Can you say "Warm, woody resonance"... German drum shell technology and hardware was the best of it's day, better than Ludwig, Gretsch, et al.
