I bought a bunch of Camco lugs from him. They were odd as they were different from any Camco lug I had ever seen. I thought possibly early DW but I guess this video confirms they were Camco

1957 George Way BDP 26" concert bass drum
1959 George Way BDP 22/12/16 w/ 5.5x14
1959 George Way Green Sparkle 22/12/16 w/5.5x14
1961 George Way Blue Sparkle 20/12/15
1961 George Way Jelly Bean 20/12/14 w/4.5x14
1960’s Camco Oaklawn Champagne 20/12/14/16w/5x14
1971-73 Camco Chanute Walnut 24/14/18 w/5x14 COB

Very interesting. I had never seen that video or knew that he played Camcos. I love the way he plays and that its with a traditional grip.

Here is another video of him on a set of Pearls that I had never seen till today.

Interesting also in that he is playing double bass, Pearl drums, concert toms and in reverse to what a lot of us did at the time, he is using Ludwig double tom mounts instead of the Pearl mounts.

Slingalud,

Thanks for posting that. I had not seen that before.

The clarity, definition, and precision of Mikes' snare work is indeed remarkable!

Further makes clear to me why he's been one of my favorite drummers of all time.

I'm pretty sure that's Graham Lear and not Shrieve. They do look alike.

Think you are right....looks like Graham...he was with them circa 1980-85?

He has been with Paul Anka for quite a few years now....

He told me once that Anka flew him all the way to Argentina for 1 gig!

He has bought a few Turk K's from me over the years....real nice guy......

Everyone that knows him says the same thing..."Monster drummer"....as you can see in this video....

Lives back in Canada now.....

Seriously? I don't even like Satana (too ethnic Violin) and I know it's not Graham Lear!

LoLoLoLo

Never play it the same way once.

I stand corrected...but wow...they do look alike. I was wondering why MS had gone to a matched grip in that video.
