It's great to know that other forum members have such diverse talents! That looks like a cool vintage mike!

Looks like an old ElectroVoice to me, PA-style, says 636...honestly, probably not worth it to repair, unless it's as simple as a broken solder joint or jostled magnet coil.

They're around, and available for probably as much as it would cost to have someone to look at it -- EV mics from that era go for $50-60 regularly, or less.

I might have one or two of those still kicking around. I've used those in my other hobby. Not a great mic, but not awful.

The good thing about these old EV's (it is a 636 btw) is they are dual impedance, and NOT rare. I think every school and Elk's Lodge had one of these sitting in that cardboard box in that little closet just off to the side of, or under the stage... heh heh heh.

In decent shape with the cable they can indeed be found for $50.00 to $75.00 all over the place.

My bet is that a wire broke loose from the element. It's an easy fix...

The mic is being worked on.The mic does have a bit of history to it,and that is the reason I am trying to get it fixed for my guitar player. M

Hello.

Based on the above entry, I thought to ask for parts availability.

I have the vintage EV-664. *In transit, the switch tag lost a screw - a pan head slotted 2-56 x 1/8, I believe. *Would you have any ? I'll appreciate your help. thanks
