Memphis Drum Shop!!

Quoted post

The video's were very cool, nice chops! I would appreciate keeping an open eye for a pink oyster pearl kit. Thanks Lucky

I enjoyed the videos, too. All of the Rogers gear sounds great, it would be hard to choose between the 15in or the Powertone snares. The high hats are HUGE! 16in cymbals, maybe? Loved the pics of the Memphis Drum Shop, the Gretsch "peacock" satin flame has my eye, but, my funds are sooo low. I also agree with O-Lugs, the Trixons are a trip, you can't look away from them.

I really appreciate the pics and the info on this one!! So cool to have seen a comparison as well between two great sounding snares. (although I thought they both sounded great I leaned towards the Slingerland snare) Those Rogers drums sounded really good too!!! Decisions, decisions ...... That place is amazing. Thanks again!! Yep, I was surprised to find no Rogers hiding anywhere at the shop but who can complain?! Even I keep going back to the site and staring at the Trixon kit. What a cool color. I have had minimal experience with those rare Trixon kits. Seeing them is like spotting bigfoot.

Thank you guys for the kind words and interest in my interest.

And to just_me, I agree about the Slingerland. It wins. Hopefully I can borrow a beavertail Century sometime to compare to the Slingerland. I think that might be a different story.

Hey Isaac!

Do you take requests?

I was thinking hmmmm..... Acrolite - Supra Ludalloy- Supra Brass

I can send the first two drums, but do not have a brass Supra....

I would love to feature that on the web site....

David

Also, Solid Shell Radio King and 3-ply Version....

I agree with the solid shell Radio King and the three ply although I have both, maybe I'l do it myself! Did you have the same heads and snare sides when you did the comparison? I also have an old 68 ludwig , three ply which I like much better than my three ply slingy. The solid shell Radio King kicks both their butts. IMHO

I have been aching to do something involving an acrolite. I already have a Black Beauty/PowerTone/Krupa COB comparision in the works. It is gonna be sweet.

I would love to take you up on featuring a acro/sura comparison on the Vintage drum site. I can't wait to start it!

Thanks again guys.

More photos of the entire shop on our other sites, well most of it that is.

As for the vintage stuff, sorry guys, the store owner's private collection. There is another snare display case off to the side as well.

Thanks MDS!

And to 27thlancer, This was two weeks ago. The Red Psychedelic is there. It is immaculate too! The owner is smart for keeping that stuff... I would hold onto it too.
