Memory Locks w/ '75 Vistalites

Loading...

Hi all,

I have a new to me '75 Vistalite kit. I just got a set of 9.5mm memory locks I was hoping to use on the floor tom legs and tom mount L-arm. They fit the legs and arm, problem is, the hardware doesn't allow enough clearance to slide the legs in without the memory lock getting caught on the rim.

Has anyone seen this before or have a remedy? Maybe a rubber bushing between the mounting hardware and the shells? Any help for a first time poster would be greatly appreciated!

Ludwig does offer a rubber spacer/ bushing for that style bracket that would likely solve your problem. Not sure of the part number but I have seen them offered for sale by themselves on ebay and from other sources.

Most memory locks have a tab on them that fits into a slot on the bracket, a '75 won't have that. You can buy modern replacement brackets that have the slot.

I use hose clamps for memory locks on all my drum sets. Work great and are a lot cheaper.
