Meazzi strainer tension knob help.

Loading...

I have a Meazzi C.O.B. 5 X 14 snare drum, that I am putting back together. This is the settup with the throwoff lever on one side and the adjustor in a similar looking housing on the other side. There is a nut , presumably fixed to the shell for the adjustor to work against. Does anyone know what this looks like? It appears to be the only thing missing from this drum.

I can't right now, Blair but I don't think there were too many different designs on them. This strainer mechanism has two 3 1/4" long snare hangers ----one on each side with 3 vertical ribs on either side of each running top to bottom. On the one ,the flat throwoff lever goes in to raise the wires and out to release them.

The tension is controlled by a 3/4" knob going through the other snare hanger, that screws ----probably clockwise to relax the wires and counterclockwise to tension them. The shaft attached to this knob goes through a 3/8" hole in the shell where I presume there is a nut fixed to actuate the adjustment. I don't have that nut and I am wondering what it looks like?

Theb measurements are actually metric I guess but I have given a rough inch guess on them.
