There were a number of Sonor pedals in the 60's , all quite unique and different.None of them looked like this but there were some distant similarities, in the springing and action. The pedal pictured has much more in common with Trixon -----the TF 4. The footboard and frame are complete knockoffs.

I had the same idea as Mikey777 with the pedal, but when I compared it with the STAR's catalogue, there are indeed some difference. So it definitely can't be a STAR pedal. So Trixon is a good guess.

Is the third hole in the middle of the bracket on the bass drum dedicated to a cymbal arm in original?

Ralf, I think you are right a Trixon pedal. If it was a Sonor the black rubber piece would have Sonor on it.If it was a Star made pedal it would have made in Japan on the underside of the pedal...But the beater looks 60's star to me....Mikey

Trixon never catalogued a pedal that looked like this. It has a very close knockoff of the Tixon footboard but an action much closer to Sonor. There have been some other German pedals made -----I seem to recall ,Rimmel possibly, that might have been made like this and there was an Amati pedal that had a very Trixon-esque footboard. Also, Tacton made one something similar but I can't remember it quite so well.

Fantastic kit you've found. Tres bien! I have a Meazzi kit, and it is my pride and joy. Have a good time with it!

Amati - big yes Phil, it's really a most similar pedal but not its.

Tacton-IV (a Trowa-V line the heir ) indeed had the analogical motive ---only idea, but not config and design ---that was a step after their failured famous "two-roller-belt" system...

I love Meazzi - there are a lot of great inventions, and mysterious beauty sound of really outstanding italian drums. Nice find !

George.
