A household name in drums ! : Hollywood by Meazzi snare, circa early '70's
Meazzi Hollywood Snare Drum
Now that's NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always liked Meazzi... always thought they were way ahead of their time. Innovators!! What is the make up of this model snare? Oops!... I just saw your other post that goes into a bit of detail. TWO plies? Really? Gotta have rings, no? The hoops "look" like cast... are they?

That is really cool! The wrap looks like a Strata type that Ludwig used on the Standards. The rim clips look similar to Zickos. VERY cool drum!

She's very interesting. Sounds damn good, too. The shell structure is odd..I could only describe it as:
a thin veneer ply of maple over a single-ply steambent maple shell.
I wonder what the intent was (?)
The rims are totally cast...heavy mo-fo's...makes vintage Slingy sticksavers feel like feathers in comparison.
Yes, Tommy...I agree...Meazzi did some very creative things with their drums. Kinda cool...you gotta like pushin' the envelope a bit, having some fun.
Tympani floor toms, hinged lugs and the like.....hehehe....
