Maxwin by Pearl restorated;-)

Loading...

I´ve got this old Maxwin by Pearl(we dated it by 1978) from a friend of mine! He said i can have it, or he is going to throw it away! So I took it! Lots of parts where missing, and other ting where done wich destroyed the historicly correctness.

So i decided to bring it back to life, for today. All the parts i used are either Pearl or STDrum parts! I know that is not a "real vintage set" anymore, but it´s still here, and that was my intension;-)This set ist much better, than the other drumsets for starters you get at the moment!

Just want it to share it with you guys, because i already sold it to a drummer (not a beginner) he really liked it!

And i liked what he payed for it;-)

You did a very nice job bringing that kit back to the percussion world !i

You`re right, they don`t make them like they used to, even the MIJ kits !i

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Very nice work! Too bad the original wrap was shot, that is a very rare black fabric that is worth about twice the asking price of an extremely mint Royce or Maxwin today. Pearl was attempting to cash in on the parents of kid's who didn't want to pay the higher cost of the Ludwig "Black Panther drum kits.

Very nicely done!

HY Thxs jonnistix and Oddball

i know that with the wrapping, but there were parts cut out, or ripped off it, and you know it`s hard to find a wrapping like this today. I don´t even know if it exists.

The main problem on that kit was, that during the years, people who owned it, did so much damage to it, or took parts of it, that it didn´t make sense to restorated it exactly...or lets say historically correct.

Thats why i made that hybrid;-)

That's all you can do with these old kits.

Way to go!

My kit is a dumpster rescue CB700. Couple years newer than that Maxwin. I rewrapped it in sparkle vinyl.
