Marching drum restoration

The snare wires look like they are in good condition but you may want to clean the rust spots. A little mineral oil or WD-40 on a cloth and wiped over the snares. The heads would have originally been calf so if you wipe the snare down with anything be sure to give it a day or so to dry completely before putting them against a calf head. I have done several of these drums and the single ply mahogany shells sound amazing but there is just no comparison to calfskin.

Thanks Matt, after the holidays I hope to find time to work on my projects, I have three. I am thinking I will try the calf heads, either tuck it my self or do you still sell the ones you had at the show?

Thank you!
