My dad not to long ago passed away i would like to sell the drum's.

The size of the bigger drum's are all 18 inch across on all the 3 set's.

the radio king drum set the big drum is 28 inch across.

I live in L.A. ca maybe a member could help me with the drum's and thing's..Iam not real good on useing a computer so i don't know if i should post my phone number or maybe the best thing is email...

Hi. You'll no doubt be inundated with offers to take these off your hands but the best thing to do would be to upload some photos of the drums to the 'For Sale' section of this forum with some indication of what you'd like to ask for them in terms of $ value. If you're not IT savvy then see if you can get someone with a digital cameral to help you. Looking at old drums for sale on Ebay can help with assessing their value but remember that asking price is not always the same as sale price. You'll get plenty of good advice here and I'm sure there's a member near you who could help. Good luck with the sale

...plus a bunch of mismatched Slingerlands that collectively make a pleasing noise.

John -

Firstly, my condolences on the loss of your father. He was a man of great taste based on the drums he owned.

I would be happy to help you appraise what you have. Don't rush to sell before you understand what you have. Your dad has some great drums and depending on condition, are quite valuable. Feel free to message me if you like. You can always try Professional Drum Shop in LA - Jerry and Stan are trustworthy and would give you an honest appraisal as well.

Hi John and a big welcome to the forum. I totally agree with the above comments- take your time and educate yourself, as your Dad knew what great jazz drums were and he took his time in choosing them. You`ll get plenty of great education here on the good ol` VDF.Condolences in the loss of your Father...he must have been a wonderful drummer.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father..I lost my Dad 9 years ago this June..Judging from the drums he owned, he could have very well been a master at his craft, as his tastes were for the very best..

I'm also in accordance with everyone up here on their advice for your situation..

Take your time, learn about what you have, and seek help from honest and trustworthy professionals in your area.. L.A will no doubt have them close by..

If your Dad took good care of his drums, you will be seeing a nice return..

Good luck with your sale, and let us all know how it turns out ..

Cheers !

My sincere condolences on the loss of your father. I think the suggestions made thus far are quite good; notably, taking time to get several opinions on the value (if you are in a rush, there are several people who could give reliable estimates if you can supply good pics). In addition, if you are Ebay savvy and established the identity of the drums, look on EBay under Completed Items to see what they are selling for at auction. I've seen some confusion when over-estimates are arbitrarily thrown out there, so take the time to get a consensus opinion.

I wish you well. Disclaimer: I collect only snare drums, not kits :)

Sorry about your father.

Don't sell anything until you get the advise of the honest experts here at VDF. You could have some valuable drums there and I'd hate to find out a swindler got your father's Camco kit for nothing :) God bless...

yes absolutely ! don't do anything but knock the dust off ( damp cloth at most for now) take some nice photographs and we all here will help you no-doubt. In the end u might even keep some of them to pass down to another generation in your family. I am a new grandpa now and have already thought about what i might leave my new 1st grandson if he chooses to show any interest.

He might be the proud owner of a club date someday.........................I don't think any other kid will have one on the block.....................LOL
