Magnum snare drum?

Loading...

I "sort of" posted about this in my previous thread about my Star kit that I just got, but the question is how old/vintage is the snare drum?

It's a Magnum brand, says "made in Taiwan" underneath it. The finish is almost perfect, including all the hardware, and the brand sticker label looks new. I then saw a completed eBay auction for the exact same drum:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370559752397#ht_683wt_1094

It stated it's from the 60's... is this correct? Mine looks pretty much exactly like this one (I'll have to take a pic, sorry) except from what I can tell, the badge on this one appears to be metal and attached by rivets, whereas mine looks like a sticker... but it's exactly the same. I can't really find much info on this on the web...

Looks to me like a later Pearl stencil. Lugs appear to be 70s style Pearl type, and even the logo font seems more modern than 60s. I don't even think they started producing these stencil drums in Taiwan until the 70s, but I may be wrong.
