Made in Italy, with signature try to identify

Hello,

I bought this cymbal years ago at a flea market. It's 10 inches in diameter and appears to have been used as a hi-hat due to the wear on the outter rim of the cymbal. I Thought nothing of it, used it, stored it, used it again. This past week I was doing some testing on the cymbals I own and I took out this cymbal and became very curious about it. Tried to find something on the net but what I'm looking for is someone to identify not only the cymbal, but the signature underneath near the bell!! It looks like the first name is Pietro and the last name starts with an F or Z. I'm going add some images, I hope, so all can see. Thank you for your time. Well OK u need a url address and I'm not good with this. Please email me at mcarlito@verizon.net and I'll send the images.

I was hoping that thee would be some kind of trademark. But I can tell from the "Made in Italy" stamp that this is some kind of UFIP creation. UFIP had about 30 stencil brands, and all of these had trademarks except for Ajaha, which only had a signature. It's pretty hard to tell from the very faded signature on this one for sure, but that doesn't look like an Ajaha signature to me. So I guess I can't really pin this one down any better than that.

I'll post the photos he sent later.

Hello,

According to Robert Zildjian, Leedy actually got in a little legal

trouble with Zildjian during the mid 40's.

It turns out that right after the war, there was a metal shortage and

Zildjian had a hard time keeping up with Leedy's orders.

Thus, Leedy decided to bring on a second cymbal manufacturer, in

order to keep up their cymbal inventory.

UFIP were contracted to build the same type of cymbal that Zildjian

had been producing for them.

In order (so they thought) to keep themselves out of any legal

trouble, Leedy asked that the wording on the cymbal's stamp be

changed to "ZINJIAN".

Well, unfortunately, Ziljdian looked on this rather poorly and cited

that the name was too close to the name of the cymbal they were

manufacturing and requested Leedy desist from using the UFIP cymbal,

or they would indeed seek legal action.

As the metal shortage had pretty much subsided by that time, Leedy

cut their ties with UFIP and Zildjian was once again, their sole

supplier of cymbals.

And now here's the photos of taken from your cymbal:

To conclude that what you have here is a Zinjian based on what can be seen in these photos, I think stretches credibility beyond what is reasonable.
