Lyra snare

If all goes well, tomorrow I'll have a blue sparkle Lyra. Wish me luck. It has the badge with two lions on it but I can't pin down how old it might be yet.

I will look at it. Is it on the bay?

OK, it's a Star, can't tell from the pix which shell it is though. Those could be original heads as well. In the final years, they used both Remo and house heads, and most of the time, stencils in the earlier days even had the name screened on the heads. Also, I can tell you, it is an 8 lugger so once you dial it in, it will sound really good.

At least one of the heads said, "Sound Master" or somesuch because that's what the guy originally told me was the brand. You know how people just read what's on the head and assume that is the brand. It will probably be very similar to my Whitehall blue sparkle. We'll see how they sound side by side.

Yeah, I went to C/L and searched it out. Nice little snare. I can't tell whehter it's a thin or thick shell. Either way, once you have it, let me know and I'll give you some secrets as to how to work it up into a great drum, not just an acceptable drum.

I'd also like to see it. Snap some pics and put 'em up!
