Luxor (not rogers) set at the bay…

Here's something you don't see everyday. As a matter of fact I've never even heard about this brand. Looks good quality and being vintage japanese stuff I'd say it should sound good. Interesting tom holders and snare. The name and the lugs might be some homage to Rogers, maybe? I've seen Eddie Ryans, Orange, Asba, Strafford, and many other super obscure brands but this is a new one for me. A cool piece for lovers of the "super rare" even though the price tag is kinda high but I'm not criticizing that fact. It is cool and rare set. Opinions?

For some reason I cannot seem to make the link work

I saw this kit for sale last month, which ended September 29. The seller was asking an opening bid of $5K, with a BIN of $6.5K! I asked how he came up with his price and he said some local "cats" valued it at this price. Not sure what they were all smoking! Nice to see the kit come down in price. I guess the haze has worn off around all the "cats"!

Pretty sure they were Hoshino kits marketed for Germany...

Cheers

still seems like an ambitious price for a not particularly good looking kit. It's similar to my Pearl Crystal Beat from the 70s but just slightly chunkier in the hardware. My Pearl kit cost me less than $400. It's not as tidy as this kit and it's faded to a pink color (still better than brown) but it sounds really good. I agree with John, looks like something Hoshino would make.

O.M.G. i have not seen one of these set's in year's..The last one i know of was put together at West Coast Drum's in Santa Ana,Ca by me..The owner Bob Weite who was the ownwe of W.C.D he got it from Mr Cooper in the 70's anyway back in the mide 80's when i was working at W.C.D. in the back room their was these clear shell's in color's of Red, Green, clear,Brown,Yellew can't recall the other color's. Anyway Bob had me put these sets together The lug's are copy's of Roger's drums, The tom mount was a copy of the Hex style of the Pearl mounts of the 70's..These drums where put to gether by what everyever part's...I put less than 50 set's together the shop sold them for 249.99 each with hardwear and cymbals..The Badge's were in a box not sure who made these badge's..So all in all the set was a 1970's set made in the 80's made of a mix bag of parts..I still have a complete tom mount and lug's from these sets...Mikey777

So this is another Mr. Cooper set? Or was it that Mr. Cooper bought some of these from (Pearl?) and Pearl also sold these to retailer(s) in Europe...??....that's probably more accurate right?

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
