I've not decided to go with 8 lugs or 16 lugs on a 6.5x14 Gretsch 3ply shell. The shell is being built and it will not be drilled for lugs - I will do it.
I don't have an example to look at so I'm asking here for help with the measurements. If I go with the small tom lugs (16) what is the standard Gretsch used for placement from the bearing edge?
The 8 lug option should be okay because they're in the middle of the shell.

Too funny John haha......Ya, I just did that because not long after I posted the Tread I searched on-line and found lots of information on the subject. I like to come here first though just because I know lots of people here probably have good tips .....do's n' don't etc.
