Ludwig

I know, I know, this is the Vintage Drum Forum, but ya gotta give this kit some love.

Ludwig Classic Maple in a silver sparkle finish. I picked it up yesterday on a trade deal. These drums are phenomenal, great tuning range, built like a tank and look so darn classy. They have the Atlas mounts on the tom, floor and kick. The ones on the kick are for a rail and arm that unfortunately weren't included.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Those look very nice! Is it just me or do those lugs look HUGE?!?!

How do you keep finding people to trade with in your local area? Or is just one other guy and you keep trading the same kits back and forth?

Are you referring to the Atlas mounts?

I do have a few friend's that will trade occasionally, that's where this one came from, but whenever I list a kit for sale on cl, I always add that I'll consider a trade for a vintage or modern kit. I get quite a few responses for certain kits.

There's a funny, but kinda sad story on this kit, my friend had a ddrum on Austin cl for $300, some smo asked if he would trade for a newer Ludwig because he wanted a smaller kick, when my friend saw the picture and realized it was a Classic Maple, he immediately said YES!

You never know what you can find if you're willing to trade.
